Swimwear Collection: Nina Ricci Summer 2011

Nina Ricci’s Summer 2011 Swimwear Collection is timeless elegance with a glamorous modern edge. Nina Ricci is ready for the season to change, as she shows us how to wear classic body flattering swimwear with simplicity. We see a collection of bikinis featuring easy, graceful lines that highlight the silhouette and accentuate the curves of the elaborate feminine body.

Nina Ricci swimwear showcases patterns such as white and navy polka dots and floral prints. Yummy accents come from the use of beaded drawstrings, draping and ruffles gathering at the curves and cleavage. Nearly every design incorporates a halter design (I imagine for support) which also adds a glamorous feel to the pieces.

To die for is the one piece halter with beaded drawstring accents at the leg opening for adjustable fit and comfort. The use of dark colors such as navy blue and turquoise provides the collection with an understated aquatic appeal. Another favorite is the turquoise bikini with a beaded drawstring top with ruffles and matching bottom. The minimal lines are full of construction which gives movement to the model without affecting the design. This is an important element when it comes to swimwear adhering to the many different shapes of a women’s body. Ricci nails it while bringing us catwalk designs in the form of swimwear.

While the collection is really elegant, there seems to be something missing. Perhaps more color or more silhouettes would complete what is otherwise a dazzling collection. So what do you think about Nina Ricci’s Summer fashion 2011trend?
