Fashion Mashup: Versace for H&M

Hey fashionistas! Thanks for checking back in with us a www.wikifashionista.com. As mentioned before, we absolutely love a good fashion mash up, and our friends at H&M never disappoint in this department. In November, just a short month from now, Versace for H&M will be available in stores nationwide. According to the representatives over at H&M the 40 piece collection should hit approximately 300 stores and will feature men’s and women’s clothing as well as popular accessories that H&M is known for.

Donetella Versace herself is pictured above wearing one of the dresses she designed for the coming Versace for H&M collection. We love the black leather with gold studded detailing. Now this dress is a true Versace creation.

“As a designer I look at the future–I never look at the past, but being the sister of Gianni, the DNA is Versace and I’m going to use iconic Versace pieces of iconic Versace moments which are not exactly always the past but also the present,” Donatella said.

The designers dresses have Versace’s signature look. We can expect to see a collection of flowing maxi and knee length dresses with embroidered detailing. We love the bronze flower petal pattern sometimes just underneath the bust line and other times cut into a halter. The dresses from the Versace for H&M collection are definitely a must have for the fall 2011 season.

Above from right to left we see a super sexy spaghetti strap jumpsuit with flowing pant legs and belted waist. Next we see a sexy orange backless mini dress and last we love the orange short set complete with oversized top and tailored shorts.

We’ve seen a growing trend of high end fashion designers collaborating with affordable fashion houses such as Macy’s and Kolh’s. Given the current economy we expect to see a rising number of high end designers utilizing this method of selling product. It’s safe and does not damage the integrity of the brand most importantly. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian have found great lucrative success by selling footwear and accessories online (Shoedazzle.com) at the low price point of $40 per purchase. We expect to see this category of retail to grow as well.

So there you have it fashionistas! Will you be grabbing something from the highly anticipated Versace for H&M collection? Let us know. In any event, thanks for keeping it locked at www.wikifashionista.com, your source for what’s trending in fashion now.
