McQueen’s work always provoked emotional reactions—extreme ones. One season, his audience shed tears of frustration over his inhospitable choice of venue; the next, tears of joy over the haunting beauty of both the clothes and the staging. Even as he entered his forties, the designer was hardly ever written about without the phrase “enfant terrible” following his name. And yet, despite the perennial bad-boy tag, he’d won all the big awards given out in London and was even honored by Queen Elizabeth.

One can always count on Alexander McQueen for extreme fashion designs. The new McQueen sandals are the pinnacle of footwear fashion. The Spring/Summer fashion for 2011 features amazing floral detailed stiletto booties and gold buckle detailing not to mention a gold steel to detail that pulls the shoe together. Also included in the collection are nude suede stiletto sandals with a braided ankle strap and major hanging floral detailing. McQueen is always interesting in a perverse sort of way that is upsets and astonishes the fashion world at the same time.

This collection is something out of a fairytale. There are gorgeous gold mottled and wavy petals that adorn the back holding up the structure and covering the front platform. Continuing the recurring t-strap theme are the peep toe, studded, floral detailed stilettos. There is nothing minimalist about this collection. These designs are classic artistic Alexander McQueen.

The lines of the collection are clean and exciting to say the least. Indeed the protagonist of the collection is successfully displaying the complete coercion of imaginative embellishment. Along with relic gold finish that is reminiscent of some of the glorious stucco which was a favorite of the late baroque designer. There is not much to be desired from this collection because every pair is so lavishly detailed and exquisitely made.

At a price tag ranging from $3000 and up the sandals by Alexander McQueen for Spring/Summer are by far the crème de la crème of fashion footwear. So what do you think about the new McQueen footwear collection? Would you like to own a pair to add to your luxury footwear collection? Tell us everything.
