Manolo Blahniks AUTUMN/WINTER 2011-2012 Collection

Hey there fashionistas! We have a sneak peek at some of the yummiest shoes on the planet. Manolos are at the top of every girls shoe worshiping totem pole. Personally, we’re a fan of these stiletto wonders. Blahnik sketches all of the shoes he makes and his sketches were previously published into books by Vogue. Below are his drawings for Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 collection.

MANOLO BLAHNIK – PERMIN DRAWING AND SHOES

These yummy stiletto pumps with thin cross ankle strap and fur embellishment are so cute. We love the pointed-toe and sky-high heel. We’d pair these gems with a tight fitting leather cocktail dress. Fur on shoes is always fun to see on this suede sling back stiletto. We’re not too sure about the string tie at the front of the shoe, but we do love the concept of the shoe none the less.

MANOLO BLAHNIK – NERINA DRAWING AND SHOES

These stilettos have to be at least 5-inches or more and we love them. Our favorite details are the side stitching and pointed-toes. We also like the tie back and the polka dot ankle skirt design with flattering color combination in taupe and brown are so cute. We also like the lace up detail on this Manolo design. We’d pair these heels with a heather grey pencil skirt and a cream silk blouse.

MANOLO BLAHNIK – GRANTA DRAWING AND SHOES

These pin pointed stiletto booties in red patent leather are ultra fierce as well. Again we see the petal skirt design and a zipper back closure. The star of this design is the exaggerated pointed-toe. We love the look of this sketch. We especially like the black leather outline detailing and red/black contrast of this pump. It would be a great idea to pair to pair these heels with a strapless little black dress with fluid skirt and sweetheart neckline.

MANOLO BLAHNIK – IMBRATAHI DRAWING AND SHOES

Tis the season for stripes fashionistas! How cute are these hot pink and black stripe booties with pointed-toe and sky-high heel. We think that the black lining and laces work well for this shoe. This is definitely a girl’s night out shoe. Pairing them with a cute black leather mini dress is a total fashion do or pairing them with a crisp pair of skinny jeans and long black trench coat.

Sherri Hill’s spring 2012 runway sparkled with her latest evening wear collection. Hill is known the world over for her stunning evening gowns. Recently, the celebrated designer included two white cocktail dresses worth of some attention. The first was worn by popular television personality and model in training, Kendall Jenner. The leggy Kardashian half-sister is following her dreams of being a professional model and looked gorgeous in the embroidered strapless white cocktail dress with feathered skirt. Next, walking the runway for Sherri Hill in a strapless mini dress with a tulle skirt and jewel encrusted bodice is Cassidy Gifford, Katy Lee Gifford’s daughter (from the Live with Regis and Kathy Lee days). Kendall and Cassidy are representing for the new generation of celebrity offspring very nicely.

The Marchesa Spring/Summer 2012 bridal collection was as enchanting as ever with elegant white cocktail dresses for every woman. We’ve chosen three of the more youthful designs that we loved from the show. Next, we absolutely loved the pictured strapless silk layered mini dress with floral accent. It’s as if one piece of beautiful silk is wrapped around the models frame and rolled into a beautiful flower. Last but certainly not least, we admired the above strapless lace knee length shift dress with a flirty accented waist.

If you’re looking for something a little more of the beaten path, we suggest trying something a little more daring from the Emilio Pucci Spring 2012 Collection. The Pucci line is better known for provocative mini dress designs, but the new collection has a lot of floor length designs with white print. From left to right we see a trending two piece design with waist fitted oversized print skirt and short sleeve crop top. Also featured on the runway was a sheer print long sleeve body dress. Not so appropriate for a black tie affair, but still cute nonetheless is another two piece design with a lace multitier floor length tube skirt and a lace embroidered strappy crop top. Last pictured is an Emilio Pucci wedding gown inspired design with long sleeves and oversized hoop dress with bowtie bust.

TRENDING NOW: Vera Wang Dresses 2012 Bridal Collection

It’s all about Vera Wang fashionistas! Big time headway made in the bridal industry recently, Vera Wang is at the root of it all. The veteran wedding dress designer is fresh off of designing the wedding dresses possibly of the year for Kim Kardashian and family, besides Sarah Burton for Kate Middleton. Vera Wang is making headlines again with her newest bridal dress collection. Could it be that the days of wearing white down the aisle are over? If Wang has her way, then the answer to this question is, yes. The new Vera Wang dresses are nude and black and quite unconventionally gorgeous. Dare we say we love it? White wedding dresses are so passé and a stretch for many brides taking the plunge. Case and point, Kim Kardashian got married in white, but we seem to remember a certain sex tape that leaked and may very well be her claim to fame. We’re just saying. Anyhow, we love the alternative idea anyway. See what all of the fuss is about below and you can be your own judge.

We adore the above strapless nude mermaid fit Vera Wang dress with layered and flared chiffon duster bottom. The intricate gown is polished off with embedded pleats. This gown if for a more youthful bride looking to push the envelope in spite of the traditional color, but this gown would look just as good in white.

Next, pictured above is another mermaid fitting strapless gown with the same duster bottom, the only difference is the floral lace inset and twisted bodice. We feel like we’ve seen this design before, and the only thing really appealing about it is the nude color. It’s beautiful nonetheless.

Now this gown is inspiring to say the least, imagine walking down the aisle in this oversized cloud of chiffon. It’s strapless and breathtaking in nude and cream. We love the simplicity of this fairytale wedding gown.

The above Vera Wang wedding dress is epic! Check out the black strapless bodice and oversized tulle floor length dress. Just take a moment to take it in. Is it truly wedding gown worthy or is it second best?

Hello again fashionistas! They say that you’re supposed to dress up as who you would like to be most for Halloween. Today we’re bringing you some of our favorite celebrity costumes from all of the Halloween parties and celebrity events. And remember, skin was not in this season, but creativity was a plus. So check out what they wore below.

One of our favorite famous fashionistas, Nicole Richie, dressed up as JLo this Halloween. Sporting a hot pink sweat suit with high heel boots and some major cleavage, Nicole looked spot on. We loved her fake tan, oversized sunglasses, statement earrings and slicked back hairstyle.

Glee leading lady, Lea Michelle wore what many opted to wear this Halloween, the infamous Swan Lake costume from Natalie Portman’s Black Swan movie. The petite actress looked every bit the ballerina in a white feather and gem studded bodice with feminine tutu. We loved the shimmering white tights, which kept her outfit a little more conservative.

Kim Kardashian dressed to impress as usual this Halloween, while promoting Midori at a Halloween costume party in Las Vegas. The reality television temptress, dressed as “Poison Ivy.” In true Kardashian fashion, Kim wore a long sexy red wig. The recently slimmed down celeb wore a tailored strapless mini dress with a side sash. Kimmie accessorized with an ivy mask, copper bangle bracelets and glittering gold platform pump.

Mummy to be, Jessica Simpson, wore a pretty scary mummy outfit. Simpson wrapped her growing bump bandages. We loved her wild curly hair and blacked out eyes. Finally, if there is one thing that Jessica does well, its shoes and her lace and bandaged pumps were to die for. So cute!

This celebrity couple is known to monkey around every Halloween, it’s none other than Heidi Klum and Seal. The famous couple wore lifelike head to toe costumes to their annual Halloween party. Heidi is a chimp and Seal is a gorilla. These two wow us every year with their elaborate costumes. We love that they go all out doing something that they clearly love to do.

The reigning Queen of Halloween, Heidi Klum, showed up at another event in Las Vegas dress in a corpse bodysuit. The unrecognizable super model was officially dead! Okay fashionistas! We hit up the West Hollywood Carnival this past Halloween. And boy did we see some great costume. Below are some of our favorite costumes from the night.

OMG fashionistas! It’s the ice queen. Check out this diva’s spiked shoulder pads, spiked crown and silk white bodice. So fierce! She finishes her costume with blue eye shadow and blue lipstick. Finally, we loved her pet bird. At first we thought it was real, so we kept our distance, but it wasn’t. Everything about this costume was so realistic, we were really impressed. We vote this one best overall costume.

How cute is this outfit! We love the glitter wigs and silver shiny metallic dress and oversized statement pearls. We think he-she’s a Power puff, and not too sure about what else this costume is, but it looked amazing in person. The drag queens were out in full force in West Hollywood celebrating Halloween in style.

Super creative again from the “Legend of Zelda” video game, is the above awesome costume. This Halloween fashionista came equipped with full cartable display case and crystal ball. Her makeup is flawless and her we love her red peasant top and black dress with cinched empire waist. We vote this one most creative.

Okay who doesn’t love the Simpsons! What we really love is Marge’s super sexy sequin mini dress. Her beehive could have been a little taller, but we’ll let her slide because she’s super cute!

We love how creative people get during Halloween, check out the walking portraits. While the Mona Lisa does have a mustache, the farmer’s couple does look accurate despite the ultra tan skin (maybe it’s an extreme farmer’s tan).

Next we bumped into a femme-bot fashionistas! Dressed in head to in shiny mirror ball squares and completed with 5 inch platforms, this costume was amazing to see in person. We vote this one Lady Gaga worthy. Oh and posing with our fave femme-bot is Circus Britney Spears. Check the glitzy bustier and lace mini skirt, very Hollywood.

We’re pretty sure that “A Nightmare Before Christmas” has something to do with the reason why Halloween is more like Christmas around the world than Christmas actually is. We loved seeing Jack roaming the streets in West Hollywood. Monster love!

Showing us how to party West Hollywood style, this frisky group of carnival goers danced merrily in the streets well into the night, proving to us that the West Hollywood carnival is the place to be on Halloween to let loose and get your monster on.

In November, just a short month from now, Versace for H&M will be available in stores nationwide. According to the representatives over at H&M the 40 piece collection should hit approximately 300 stores and will feature men’s and women’s clothing as well as popular accessories that H&M is known for.

Donetella Versace herself is pictured above wearing one of the dresses she designed for the coming Versace for H&M collection. We love the black leather with gold studded detailing. Now this dress is a true Versace creation.

“As a designer I look at the future–I never look at the past, but being the sister of Gianni, the DNA is Versace and I’m going to use iconic Versace pieces of iconic Versace moments which are not exactly always the past but also the present,” Donatella said.

The ad that had Penelope Cruz by L’Oreal mascara is receiving a few throws of criticism from the Advertising Standards Authority, saying that it may mislead the public.
Why? Well, for one, Penelope Cruz was wearing false eyelashes and the ASA ruled out that it may mislead the public.

One complainant contacted the ASA, concerned that Cruz was wearing false eyelashes in the ads for L’Oreal Telescopic mascara and therefore exaggerating the length of her eyelashes that could be achieved once the product has been used.

L’Oreal mascara claim “up to 60% longer”, both featured in the TV ad and the press ads, was supported by scientific data and consumer data.

It added that the claim did not refer to actual lash extension but rather to a perceived increase in length when the lash tips were made more visible after applying L’Oreal mascara.
L’Oreal told the ASA that false eyelashes were necessary in order to fill the gaps between Cruz’s natural lashes before Telescopic mascara was applied.

In their defense, L’Oreal argues that many women indeed wear false eyelashes and reiterated that up to 60% longer lashes could be achieved by applying the mascara regardless of whether lashes were real or artificial.

Despite the rebuttal, the ASA ruled that the ads that was created by advertising agency McCann Erickson could be misleading.

“We concluded that, in the absence of a disclaimer stating that Penelope Cruz was wearing some individual false lashes added to her natural lashes, and because the ad did not make clear that the claim referred to an increase in the ‘appearance’ of lash length, the ads could mislead.” The regulator said.

The ASA have informed and instructed the company L’Oreal to include a disclaimer in their future ads that feature models wearing false eyelashes and to ensure any further campaigns for the product made clear that the “up to 60%” claim referred only to the appearance of the lashes.

The ASA also criticized the company for its lack of promptness when it came to responding with the complaint.

The company may be lashed by these criticisms they are still confident with the products that they are selling and may have just lost a footing there with the ads. The criticism didn’t really create any damage since the L’Oreal mascara products are still getting sales globally despite the slamming of ASA with their ads.
